HOLES IN THE SKY: with Hila Plitmann and Simone Dinnerstein

Pianist Lara Downes is joined by Grammy award-winning soprano Hila Plitmann and pianist Simone Dinnerstein in a program of music by women composers, celebrating her Warner Classics debut album Holes in the Sky.

“I want music that makes holes in the sky”

-Georgia O’Keeffe

This concert-with-conversation features music by Clarice Assad, Eve Beglarian, Abbey Lincoln, Meredith Monk, Joni Mitchell, Angelica Negron, Florence Price, Sarah Kirkland Snider and others, celebrating the power of female creativity and the women who inspire us to make holes in the sky.

Presented in support of PLAN International Because I Am A Girl, the youth-led, global movement for girls’ rights and gender equality.

Simone Dinnerstein

State of the Arts producer Eric Schultz profiled pianist Simone DInnerstein back in 2008, shortly after her ground breaking recording of J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations hit No. 1 on Billboard's Classical Chart. The surprise success of her self-produced CD launched her international career.
